ゲイ・アンセム（英語: gay anthem）、またはLGBTアンセム（英語: LGBT anthem）は、LGBTコミュニティ（特にゲイ男性）において広くの間で好まれている歌を指す言葉。ゲイまたはLGBTの応援歌、賛歌、祝歌とされている。

概要

マドンナ

「何がゲイ・アンセムとなるか」という基準は時代によって傾向が異なるものの、書籍『Queer』では全てのゲイ・アンセムがそうではないと断りながら、以下の10点が多くのゲイ・アンセムのメインテーマとなる傾向が高い特徴だとしている[1]。

大きな支持を受けたディーヴァの楽曲
女性のゲイ・アイコンでディーヴァ・スタイルが特徴的なポップ・ミュージックの歌手、多くのゲイ男性が崇拝的とも言えるような支持をする人物が歌う歌。
恋における困難の克服
過去に恋に破れ、そこから立ち直り昔よりも強く成長した姿を描く物語の歌。
「あなたは一人ではない」
コミュニティにおける連帯を喜ぶ歌や、「孤独を感じているのはあなただけではない」と元気づける言葉を表した歌。
心痛の投げ捨て
苦しみはひとまず忘れて楽しくやろう、と気楽さを勧める歌。
苦労をして築いた自己の称賛
抑圧や悪意、自由への恐れといったものの克服や、美しさ、自己の評価が主題の歌。
セクシャリティの解放の称賛
文化的な「恥の概念」を超え、ありのままのセクシャリティを讃える歌。
受容の探求
自分を受け入れてくれるような世界に対する希望やそこに生きる姿を想像する歌。
人生の困難を描いたトーチソング
欺きや悪意、後悔に生きる姿を描いた歌。
全てを打ち破る愛
愛において、克服できない壁を諦めずに乗り越えた物語を描いた歌。
謝らない強さ
他の人の期待や批判に逆らってでも自分の生き方を貫くことをテーマにした歌。

ビルボードはゲイ・プライドで特に愛されるアンセムについて「LGBTQコミュニティと同様、アンセムもその種類は多様であり、それらのアンセムはありのままの自分でいるための勇気を与えてくれる様々なミュージシャンたちによって歌われている」として、代表する初期の楽曲にジュディ・ガーランドの「虹の彼方に」、ABBAの「ダンシング・クイーン」、クイーンの「愛にすべてを」などを挙げている[2]。更に現代ではマドンナ、マライア・キャリー、ブリトニー・スピアーズといったディーヴァ達がゲイ・アイコンとして有名であるが、彼女達の楽曲だけではなく『アナと雪の女王』や『ミラベルと魔法だらけの家』といったディズニー映画から生まれた楽曲も人々にインスピレーションを与えていると説明している[2]。中でもマドンナは数々のゲイ・アンセムを持つとされ「エクスプレス・ユアセルフ」や「ヴォーグ」などが代表的な例として挙げられている[3]。
